Baked Cake

Hey yall. So last week was quite, but it was basically the calm before this weeks storm. Im swimming in cake orders its nuts. I LOVE it though! Ok so last week I made a baked alaska for my best friend for her cousins birthday. When she ordered the cake we had a 4 hour conversation about. yes...4 hours. My phone died! My best friend killed my phone. I mean her questions were all understandable if I had no idea what baked alaska was I'd be asking a million questions about it too. So anyways the baked alaska was a yellow cake with mint chocolate chip ice cream HOMEMADE oh yeah! and torched meringue on the outside..heavenly!! It also had a picture of her cousin and the two guys from Twilight very cute! She cut and pasted her cousin into the picture pretty awesome. She doesnt know it but if I have to do anything like that for another cake order - shes doing it! I could never do that. Along with that baked alaska I made another one to sell in my parents restaurant. It was the vanilla cake mint choc chip and then a layer of vanilla choc chip and then yeah another layer of mint choc chip icecream then that torched meringue (so hungry right now) here wanna see it:

We sold it in the restaurant by the slice and on the specials we said that all the money would go to helping the animals that were affected by the oil spill. It went in 2 days! and some customers gave extra money..so sweet. In july we will also start to make desserts and donate the money to breast cancer as we do every year. Now for a NYC Wine and Food Festival update. Tickets went on sale yesterday and I heard a lot of the events are selling out VERY quick. Cake Oven

Hey everyone!! WHAT a weekend. Being busy is fun and challenging. And I LOVE a challenge. So before I started working like crazy I decided to have some fun and head to the beer garden in astoria (Studio Square) sooo much fun such a beautiful night and I found out they can make an awesone margarita woo! I also brang my yummy in your tummy red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. MOUTH WATERINGGG. The boyfriend could NOT stop eating them wanna see them!?!?!?

Ok now that your hungry. I wanna talk about the oven shaped cake I did this weekend. Like I said it was my first one and It was a fun one! I deff cooked up some lovely cake. These kinds of cakes are awesome because you can just keep adding little things. Like I added the oven mitts and the pot holder and the spoons

So cute! So im very excited about an order I received yesterday for a Toy Story cake. Ive been waiting for it! Cannot wait to blog about it some more next week. ok NYC Wine and Food Festival update: on the personalities page with my bio and pic they mixed up 2 of the letters in my last name womp. But its fixed now yayyy! I hear the tickets are selling like hot cakes ahhhhh so awesome!

I just want to mention before I leave you how much I love cake BUT! I also love a juicyyy well made burgerrrrr! And I am sooooo ridiculously excited about 5 Napkin Burger opening up in astoria this week. I will for sure be all over that! Till next time sweet dreams (Cake Dreams)

Oven Cake

So late night for me tonight. I have some red velvet and vanilla cakes in the oven and vanilla buttercream going in the cuisinart. Smells so sweet in here! ok I wanna tell you about one of the many cakes Im doing this weekend. Its a cake thats going to be in the shape of an oven! Excitedddd. Its my first one. Its going to be pink and have a pot on top with undies and a bra hanging out! Its for a bridal shower. I love making cakes that have much detail and are just a fun process. I will for sure post pics after its delivered on saturday.

Now a festival update: The other night I had a pow wow with my parents, the boyfriend and my sister and her boyfriend. We all sat down to talk about what we are going to make for the wine and food festival! (Im getting a welcome packet about the festival in early july!) ok so whoa! everyone had so many ideas it was crazy! It made me so happy. My brain over flows everyday with ideas I cannot explainn it!! I have to tell you we came up with some sweet treats. We are going to test them after I come back from Miami in july. Should be fun! Plus we get to eat lots of yummy cake yay. Now since im going to citifield again tomorrow I will leave you with this Mets cake!

Cake Come True

So tonight my parents and my sister and her boyfriend are over. But at 10:15 I got a tweet that the Food Network NYC and Wine Food Festival was up. WHOAAA I was so excited I ran from the kitchen where me and the boyfriend were making arroz con pollo bites and guacamole to get the laptop!
